The City of Bay Minette has recognized Sgt. Rene’ Peebles as its Employee of the Year for 2014. She was surprised with the presentation at the city’s annual employee recognition dinner held at Holly Hills Municipal Golf Course.
Peebles is a Sergeant with the Bay Minette Police Department. She has been with the department since 2006 and has made quite an impression on her co-workers and received multiple nominations for the award.
“She continues to provide leadership to her shift and demonstrates caring and compassion to the many people she comes into contact with on a daily basis,” wrote one co-worker on her nomination form. “I see her go above and beyond her call of duty and always trying to help people in the city.”
Police Chief Clarence Crook praised Peebles for her dedication to the job and residents. “Employee of the Year is very fitting,” Crook said. “Since her employment here she's gone beyond her duty to help anyone she can. She's even gone into her own pockets to purchased items for people in need. It's a blessing to have her on our team.”
That sentiment was echoed by Mayor Robert A. “Bob” Wills who said she “epitomizes the attributes of so many of the fine employees here at the city. She always goes the extra mile to provide efficient and courteous service in a kind and compassionate way. We are glad to have her in our police force and appreciate her service to our citizens.”
